OAKLAND — Sandra Healy Swallow, of Harpswell, recently was honored during a reception at the Waterville Country Club in Oakland as the new state regent of the Maine State Organization of Daughters of the American Revolution.

Swallow was elected during the MSODAR Spring Conference in March and was recently sworn in at the 122nd Continental Congress in Washington, D.C.

The new state regent has been a member of DAR for many years, serving at the local, state and national Level. Swallow and her mother, Barbara Healy, who organized the reception, are both active in the Fort Halifax Chapter, Winslow.

Swallow chose two swallows gathering nesting materials as her logo. It signifies her goal for the 2013-2016 Administration “Teamwork for Success,” and her scripture comes from Proverbs 11:14 Where there is no guidance, a people falls, but in abundance of counselors there is safety.

The next meeting of MSODAR will be the fall meeting Nov. 2-3 at the Senator Inn in Augusta. For more information, visit mainedar.org.
