BIDDEFORD — Native Maine Olympian Julia Clukey will spend her 29th birthday speaking with students at Biddeford High School in her home state.
Clukey is a luger who was born in Augusta and competed in the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver. She is scheduled to speak with the students at 10 a.m. on Tuesday. She is expected to show a video, share her personal story, take questions and sign autographs.
Clukey finished the 2013-14 season winning a gold medal in the U.S. Luge Winter National Seeding Races in Lake Placid, N.Y. She has been a competitive luger for about 12 years.
