FAIRFIELD — Runners and walkers of all ages are welcome to participate in the community 5k Run/Walk and a one-mile fun run on Saturday, May 17, at Kennebec Montessori School.
The fun starts at 8:30 a.m. with registration and a warm-up with Justin Richardson, of Anytime Fitness. The one-mile Fun Run starts at 9 a.m. followed by the 5k at 9:30 a.m. The 5k course will combine road and trail, weaving through KMS’s 14 acres of land from the fields around the school and wooded trails to Sheridan Road.
After the race there will be a finish-line breakfast provided by Selah Tea. Awards will be given to the top three male and female finishers.
Advanced registration will cost $15 for aduls and $5 for children 12 and younger or $20 for adults, $10 for children the day of the race. Everyone who registers by May 5 will receive a free T-shirt, with kid-designed artwork. Participants are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item to donate to the Fairfield Interfaith Food Pantry.
