An Oakland man has been charged with domestic assault and criminal mischief after allegedly pushing a woman and punching a hole in a door during an argument about money, police said.

Ryan Ackerman, 28, was arrested Tuesday after Waterville police found him in Waterville, according to a news release Thursday from the Waldo County Sheriff’s Office.

The argument was reported around 8:45 p.m. Tuesday on Pond Road in Burnham. Deputy Dan Thompson, of the Waldo County Sheriff’s Office, responded to the complaint, according to the release.

Thompson spoke with the woman involved in the argument and learned that they had been fighting about money that Ackerman thought she owed him, the release said. Ackerman had fled the scene, and police found him later in Waterville.
