WATERVILLE — Kennebec Valley Community Acition Program will host its second annual Community Celebration from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 10, at Educare Central Maine, attached to the George J. Mitchell School.

This free event will begin with a children’s concert, featuring award-winning singer/songwriter Matt Loosigian from 11 a.m. to noon followed by a barbecue.

Families can participate in a number of activities, including a climbing wall, a bounce house, face painting, and a temporary tattoo station. There also will be a balloon artist, a giant Jenga game, and a story walk for the younger children.

This year there will be a variety of special guests, including Elsa and Anna, Batman, Captain America, the Cat in the Hat, the Tooth Fairy and others.

KVCAP was founded in 1965 as part of the War on Poverty. Ongoing efforts continue in order to remove the barriers people face as they work to improve their financial security.
