SCARBOROUGH — Police say there were anxious moments when a school bus snagged downed utility lines in Scarborough on Monday morning.

Police say 12 students were on the bus when it snagged some downed cable TV lines. They say electrical power lines didn’t come into contact with the bus.

Police blame a fallen tree limb for knocking over the wires, causing the bus to become tangled.

Central Maine Power officials say the bus driver kept the children calm and that the bus’ occupants were never endangered during the incident.
