GARDINER — Swine and Stein will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 8, on Water Street. The event is Gardiner Main Street’s eccentric version of a traditional Oktoberfest.

The 7th annual event includes an oompah band as well as pork, and other creative culinary dishes, a wide selection of Maine craft beers, and entertainment from some of Maine’s best musicians.

Restaurants and street vendors from across the state will team up to serve an array of pork-driven dishes.

The “Beer Geeks” from Craft Beer Cellar will guide participants through the finer points of malt beverage at “Beer U”.

Festival goers can learn about the art and craft of butchery. Leon Emery of Emery’s Meat and Produce will demonstrate how to turn a half pig into all of your favorite cuts.
