FARMINGTON — Dan Kennedy of Amherst, Massachusetts, will present a concert of contemporary music at 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, at Nordica Auditorium, UMF Merrill Hall.

Kennedy’s piano compositions are praised for their sophisticated sensibility and their variety — from rhythmic energy to humorous reflections on daily life to jazzy or blues-inspired pieces and soulful, reflective melodies.

His CDs, “Lantern,” “Intuition,” and “Bloom Road,” will be available for purchase at the concert.

Admission will be by donation to the El Junco Scholarship Fund, which provides a way for Honduran teenagers from the village of El Junco, Honduras to attend junior high and high school level classes. These scholarships are a project of the Franklin County United Church of Christ Honduras Committee.
