Island Creek Oyster Farm, based in Duxbury, Massachusetts, opened an oyster shop with a fast casual food service component at 123 Washington Ave. on Thursday
Known as simply “The Shop,” Island Creek’s new venture has 75 seats, both indoors and outdoors, and will sell oysters from throughout New England. Local Maine oysters, such as Little Island oysters from the Bagaduce River and Mookie Blues oysters from Damariscotta, will be featured. Also for sale: tinned fish and caviar from around the world.
Hours will be noon to 8 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday.
Kit Paschal, formerly of Roustabout, a Washington Avenue restaurant that closed this year, is general manager of The Shop.
Island Creek Oyster Farm has oyster bars in Boston; Burlington, Massachusetts, and Portsmouth, New Hampshire.
