Open Book Players will present Reading Rumpus at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 10, at Johnson Hall in Gardiner.

This event will feature the works of several Maine children’s book authors and illustrators, their stories adapted and presented as theatrical works.

This year’s program will include “Bella’s Fall Coat” and two chapters of “Maxi’s Secrets” by Lynn Plourde, “Crossing Niagara” by Matt Tavares as well as his illustrated “Lighter Than Air” by Matthew Clark Smith, two chapters from “Mystery of the Missing Fox” by Tamra Wight, “Be Quiet!” and “Hotel Bruce” by Ryan T. Higgins, “Thumbs Up For All” by Emily Coye, and “Hattie & Hudson” by Chris Van Dusen along with his illustrated “Even Monsters Need to Sleep” by Lisa Wheeler.

These award winning authors and illustrators will attend the performance and will be available to autograph their books.
