THE IMPACT OF CLIMATE CHANGE is increasingly visible in Maine and across the globe, experts say. News agencies more frequently report intense storms, coastal flooding, unusual temperatures and the effect on our ecosystems.
THE GULF OF MAINE RESEARCH INSTITUTE, funded by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, has produced a 90-minute multimedia interactive learning experience that explores the potential impact of sea level rise.
THE PUBLIC IS INVITED to free presentations of “Preparing for Sea Level Rise” at 4:30 p.m. March 13 and at 6:30 p.m. April 24 and May 17, at the institute at 350 Commercial St. in Portland.
SPACE FOR THE PROGRAM is limited, so participants must register online at gmri.org/events to reserve a spot. For more information, contact Gayle Bowness at gayle@gmri.org or 228-1647.
