The line attributed to former Speaker of the House Tip O’Neill that “all politics is local” has never felt more timely and relevant to me. Voters in Maine’s House District 88 in Chelsea, Jefferson, Whitefield and part of Nobleboro have an opportunity this year to elect Chloe Maxmin, a powerful community-oriented candidate and a person of high integrity. I heartily recommend this wonderful person to my neighbors and I look forward to working with her.
I have known Chloe Maxmin for more than a decade and she has consistently been a voice for the positive and the possible in our community. As her teacher in high school, I watched her lead her peers through several worthwhile student initiatives. This was particularly evident in her work with the school’s Climate Action Club, which brought her into direct and frequent contact with business leaders in the area.
Chloe’s passion for driving positive change is sincere and she is a highly effective and dedicated advocate for the needs of others. Above all, Chloe is an honest person who is able to have an earnest conversation with anyone and who is able to learn from others. These are rare qualities in public life these days and we will be very fortunate to have Chloe Maxmin as our representative in Augusta.
