Winthrop High School recently announced the following students are this years top 10 graduating seniors. Students are listed alphabetically after the valedictorian and salutatorian.

Valedictorian: Benjamin Paul Boulay has been in various activities at Winthrop High School. He was a member of the math team all four years. He was elected to the National Honor Society in his junior year and was class vice president all four years. He was a soccer captain his senior year. When not at school he volunteers at community breakfasts and is employed by Subway of Winthrop.

He is the son of Paul and Rebecca Boulay, of Winthrop. Boulay plans to attend Husson University to major in forensic science.

Salutatorian: Vincent Gaetano Scott is an active young man, both in and outside of school. He is a member of several athletic teams: boys soccer as a freshman, cross country his sophomore, junior and senior years, captain his senior year; track and field all four years, captain his junior and senior years; cross-country skiing all four years, captain his senior year.

Scott was a member of the Latin Club all four years, president his junior and senior years, math team his freshman, sophomore and junior years, Student Council as a junior and senior, treasurer his senior year, National Honor Society as a junior and senior, president his senior year, the Drama Club all four years, yearbook as a senior and has been class president all four years.

Outside of school he also is active serving as a church lector, and a volunteer for Special Olympics and Relay for Life. He has participated in the People to People program and was a USA ambassador to Europe.

He is the son of William and Victoria Scott, of Readfield. Scott plans to attend the University of Maine at Orono to major in biomedical engineering.

Chloe Armillotti was a member of the girls soccer team all four years, Latin Club and the Art Club her freshman and sophomore years.

As a freshman she served as a mentor to younger students.

She is the daughter of Julie Armillotti, of Winthrop, and David Armillotti, of Massachusetts. Armillotti plans to attend the University of New England enrolled in the physician assistant program.

Jordan Sage Belanger was involved in French Club her freshman, sophomore and junior years and served as a library aide her junior year. She was elected to the National Honor Society as a junior and is a member of the prom committee.

Outside of school Jordan has been a volunteer at a daycare center all during high school and studied Karate her freshmen, junior and senior years. Jordan participated in the Relay for Life fundraiser her junior year.

She is the daughter of Rick and Glenna Belanger, of Winthrop. Jordan plans to attend Husson University to major in physical therapy.

Lakin Cassandra Conner played softball as a freshman and transferred her focus to lacrosse the past three seasons and has been a team captain all three years. She was in art club as a freshman and sophomore and a member of the French Club her freshman, sophomore and junior years.

She is the daughter of Bob and Tammy Conner, of Winthrop. Lakin plans to attend the University of Maine at Farmington to major in biology.

MacKenzie Merna Guerin played varsity softball her freshman year and was a member of the French Club as a freshman and sophomore. She was elected as a Student Council representative her freshman and sophomore year and served as secretary both junior and senior year. Outside of school activities she was a member of the Diamond Athletics Cheer and Dance Team her freshman, sophomore and junior years.

She is the daughter of Chris Guerin and Tanya Leighton, of Winthrop. Guerin plans to attend Central Maine Community College to begin nursing studies.

Portia Andrea Hardy has been active in Winthrop High School’s Latin Club all four years. As a junior she served as communications coordinator and editor. She is a member of Maine Junior Classical League and served as a state officer and editor of the Maine Torch newsletter. Hardy was elected to National Honor Society as a junior. She was a member of the band all four years and was in jazz band her freshman year and robotics club as a sophomore. She was on the track and field team her junior year.

Hardy has been caroling with Latin Club and participates in the Town of Winthrop’s Memorial Day Parade. As a freshman she was involved with dancing for nursing home patients.

She is the daughter of Andrew and Christina Hardy. of Winthrop. Hardy plans to attend the University of Maine at Farmington to major in earth and environmental science.

Madison Rose Moore has been involved in various activities during her four years of high school. She was in the Latin Club and Art Club her freshman and sophomore year, and is member of this year’s Yearbook Club. Moore is active in the game of soccer and has been on the high school team all four years and named as captain this year. She also was a member of indoor soccer at Allpro all four years and has played on multiple teams.

She is the daughter of Marcel and Julie Moore, of Winthrop. Moore plans to attend Husson University on their pre-pharmacy track.

Fantasia Clotilde Perez has participated in a number of activities during her high school years. She has been a member of the Latin Club the past four years and was the club’s historian as a sophomore and junior. A member of the robotics team, she was team captain as a sophomore and junior. She is a member of the National Honor Society and named vice president this year. Perez was named captain of the JV soccer team her junior year.

She has worked in the library as a “shelver” for the past three years and participated in the Big Church Night Out Concert this year. As a junior she was named a student representative to the school board, a position she continues in her senior year.

Perez is the daughter of Jennifer Manzano, of Winthrop. She plans to attend the University of Southern Maine to major in psychology and criminology.

Elizabeth A. Ward is involved in school activities, clubs and athletics. She was a member of the varsity soccer team all four years and the track and field team as a sophomore and senior. She has been in the French Club and band and has been in the KV Honors Band as a freshman, sophomore and senior. Ward also has performed in WHS Cabaret all four years.

She is a member of the Kennebec Performing Arts Company.

Ward plans to attend the University of Maine at Presque Isle to major in a self-designed biology program. She is the daughter of Brian and Jennifer Ward, of Winthrop.
