An inmate at the Maine State Prison in Warren died there Friday morning, authorities said Saturday.

Jeremiah F. Young, 48, died at 8:45 a.m., according to the Maine Department of Corrections.

Prison officials did not disclose the cause of death, but Maine Department of Public Safety spokesman Stephen McCausland said that a health issue was the likely cause.

The Maine State Police and Office of Chief Medical Examiner were notified of the death in accordance with protocol.

Young began serving sentences on Sept. 28, 2015, for multiple probation revocations for robbery, misuse of identification, theft by unauthorized taking and transfer. The longest sentence was for four years, 182 days.
