Austin Street Brewery announced Wednesday it will open a second location, with a larger tasting room and outdoor area, amid the brewery hub in Portland’s East Bayside neighborhood.

Austin Street is currently located on Industrial Way, the city’s original, unofficial brewery incubator, started by nearby D.L. Geary and Allagash brewing companies.

Austin Street Brewery opened there in 2014, making only its Patina Pale Ale on a one-barrel system, and has since expanded to a 10-barrel operation.

That’s also where Rising Tide Brewing Co. got its start before moving to East Bayside and subsequently drawing other new breweries to that area.

Austin Street’s East Bayside location will be next to Rising Tide on Fox Street, where it hopes to start production by October, according to the brewery’s Facebook page.
