As part of the meeting, four individuals received the association’s outstanding volunteerism awards. Melissa Emerson, of Manchester; Molly and Phil Davidson, both of Hallowell; and Kandra Ayotee-Foster, of Augusta; were honored for their dedication and service to the association.

All award recipients received a plaque from the association to recognize their time and commitment to the organization.

“During a time when associations and member organizations across the state like ours are in need of volunteers, these awards are just one of the ways we can honor the contributions and exceptional dedication of these individuals to our mission to encourage and promote ice skating programs in the State of Maine,” said Sue Smith, board president of the Skating Association of Maine, according to the release.

During the meeting, the committees were elected and announced for both the hockey and figure skating committees.
