Women will surely turn out to vote in numbers never before seen in the upcoming fall 2022 election. The overturning of Roe v. Wade by the Supreme Court and the subsequent passing of harsh abortion laws by Republican-controlled states has left women upset and frightened. The level of emotions runs very high on this issue and is surely a main cause of the election poll numbers softening for Republicans and increasing for Democrats.

Republicans definitely doubled their problems on the abortion issue by making the laws they passed so harsh. Namely they do not allow exceptions for rape, incest, or even if the life of the mother is in danger. Many would say they are on the wrong side of morality by trying to force rape victims and mostly young incest victims to carry the fetus to term. And making no exceptions even when the life of the mother is in danger leaves women frightened for themselves and their daughters.

The abortion issue has given much fuel to the argument that current Republican politicians are extremists. This argument has gained traction and the polls show it. This issue can only be expected to further soften Republican poll results. And Democrats can only be expected to hammer and hammer that issue.

Because of the high emotions woman have for the abortion issue, they will surely vote in percentages never before seen. And they will swing the results of many races. This will be the year of the women voters.
