WATERVILLE — A rally is scheduled for 1:30-3:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 8, at the Unitarian Universalist Church, 69 Silver St.
This event is being organized in advance of the November election and in solidarity with the national Women’s March, which has called people to action across the country Oct. 8 to express their determination to guarantee abortion rights and reproductive justice for all, according to a news release from event organizer Elizabeth Leonard.
The group will rally on the lawn in front of the Unitarian Universalist Church. Speakers, including a number of candidates for elective office in November, will address the ongoing attacks on abortion rights and reproductive justice.
There also will be music, a voter registration table, and a chance to learn more about the candidates and about relevant community organizations.
Participants are asked to bring friends, signs and voices, and adhere to all public health guidelines.
This is a nonviolent event. All attendees are asked to commit to peace, justice, and the common public good.
