I am a person who is 10 years older than President Biden. I have all my faculties, am reasonably intelligent, and in good health. My doctors generally say I present around the age of 60 to 70 years old. I drive my own car at the proper speed limits and do not drive while texting, talking on the phone, reading or eating. But I am not the only person who has reached this age. There are many of us much older than me who are very capable; indeed, quite a few have reached 100 years or more.

My point is that people, especially the media, should not be reporting on either of the candidates age. We do, after all, have the Equal Opportunity Act of 1984. Part 5A and its divisions address discrimination against age. The media should button its lips on this issue.

President Biden is doing a pretty good job against difficult opposition. He handles criticism with good grace. He should have a chance at a second term if he wants it.

If the Democrats or Republicans come up with more good candidates, then we will all have a chance to cast our vote as we wish. In the meantime, as I learned in school many years ago, we should all respect and support the president the people have chosen.
