Is abortion safe, legal and rare? Today, abortion is anything but! One area where abortion is still rare is late term, typically after a baby is viable, meaning they can live outside the womb, they can also feel pain and we can see them react to pain clearly when viewing an ultrasound.
Time and time again public polling has shown that over 65% of the public oppose late-term abortion. Most Mainers do not support late-term abortion, because they understand it ends an innocent human life. This is against the United States Constitution. There is a bill, L.D. 1619 in the Maine Legislature, that seeks to allow abortion right up to birth. Please contact your lawmakers in Augusta and tell them to vote no.
