As a resident of Augusta and Kennebec County I am very grateful to learn that there is now an EMS physician that can assist with 911 emergencies outside of the hospital setting.
As a RN in the local emergency department, I have seen firsthand the complexity of cases that EMS encounters — and know how far away many of the towns are from a hospital. Having a field responding emergency physician gives me great peace of mind and is a truly valuable resource for our community. We are already seeing the benefits.
