AUGUSTA — An Augusta man was charged Sunday with brandishing a gun during a road rage incident in which two vehicles collided on Interstate 95 southbound.
Colby Lemelin-Smith, 22, was driving a 2018 Volkswagen Passat when he and the driver of another vehicle allegedly became involved in the road rage incident, according to Shannon Moss, spokesperson for the Maine Department of Public Safety.
Moss said the initial investigation indicated Lemelin-Smith had brandished a gun during the confrontation.
State troopers responded at 11:09 a.m. to a report of a crash, resulting from the alleged road rage incident, at mile marker 111.
Lemelin-Smith received summonses charging him with criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon and driving to endanger.
One occupant of the alleged victim’s vehicle suffered minor injuries, including cuts and abrasions, but was not taken to the hospital.
Lemelin-Smith complained of lower back pain and was taken by a state trooper to MaineGeneral Medical Center in Augusta.
