Aeverson Arteaga’s RBI single with two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning lifted the Richmond Flying Squirrels to a 3-2 win over the Portland Sea Dogs in an Eastern League game Friday night in Richmond, Virginia.

Brooks Brannon was 2 for 4 with an RBI double in the fourth inning for the Sea Dogs, who had a four-game winning streak snapped.

Portland tied the game at 2-2 in the seventh. After singles by Karson Simas and Marvin Alcantara and a walk to Caden Rose loaded the bases with nobody out. Simas scored when Ahbram Liendo grounded into a double play.

Sea Dogs starter David Sandlin was pulled after four innings, in which he allowed four hits and one run while striking out four. Portland’s third pitcher, Yovanny Cruz, took the loss.
