Visit Portland has launched a statewide dining and hospitality promotion aimed at boosting midweek business over Maine’s slowest winter months.

The program, called Winter Weekdays, runs Jan. 5-April 30 and is meant to builds off the success of last year’s Winter Wednesdays promotion. Participating restaurants, breweries, cafés, bars, and hotels choose the slowest weekdays for their business, and offer special promotions on those days.

“Winter Weekdays is about supporting Maine’s hospitality community when it matters most,” said Lynn Tillotson, President and CEO of Visit Portland. “This program helps businesses generate midweek traffic, supports local jobs and invites people to experience Maine’s food scene and communities all winter long.”

More than 50 restaurants and 19 hotels around the state have signed on so far, featuring promotions such as $1 wings all Wednesday at Bayside Bowl in Portland; a cheeseburger and fries with Allagash White for $20 on Mondays at Dry Dock in Portland; and 25% off weekday stays at Alouette Beach Resort in Old Orchard Beach. Visit Portland is receiving marketing support for the campaign from the Maine Office of Tourism, along with collaboration from HospitalityMaine, the Maine Tourism Association and the Greater Portland Regional Chamber of Commerce.
