Heidi Neal, owner of Loyal Biscuit Co., is scheduled to speak during a leadership luncheon on Wednesday, Sept. 29, co-hosted by Mid-Maine Chamber of Commerce and KV Connect.
The luncheon will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Amici’s Cucina, 137 Main St., Waterville.
Neal, owner of the seven-unit company, will share her challenges in growing a successful business, along with her vision for future growth in the pet field, her entrepreneurial path and lifelong experiences that propelled her to her current position.
Neal purchased the single-location Loyal Biscuit in Rockland in 2010 and has since turned it into a thriving, seven-location business with locations in Waterville, Rockland, Camden, Belfast, Brewer, Hallowell and Bath.
Loyal Biscuit was named the 2015 Best Pet Supply Store in the country by Pet Business Monthly, and Neal that year was named the Maine Small Business Administration’s Small Business Person of the Year. Loyal Biscuit in 2017 was named Maine Retailer of the Year by the Retail Association of Maine. It has also been recognized nationally for its commitment to community service and a stellar staff.
Leadership luncheon sponsors are Kennebec Savings Bank and Central Maine Growth Council.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
