Anthony Takacs, wanted in connection with the burglary of two Skowhegan stores, was arrested Thursday in Windham after allegedly breaking into a church and drinking the wine there.

Erica Cormona, 18, and Nayquan Nicholas, 28, both of New York City, are in the Kennebec County jail.

It’s the second time Charles Reed, 64, has been charged with arson in the last three years.

The charge was dropped a few weeks after hayride driver, David Brown, of South Paris, was acquitted of a misdemeanor charge of reckless conduct in connection with a crash that killed Cassidy Charette, 17, of Oakland.

A Kennebec County grand jury also recently indicted a number of people on domestic violence and drug charges.

Skowhegan police say they are concerned about an uptick in crime stemming from the Trinity Men’s Shelter, but the shelter director said the homeless population is being targeted unfairly.

Andrew Maderios, a former Nokomis Regional High School music teacher, was convicted last year of aggravated assault and domestic violence assault.
