Law is not a hardship, for law-abiding citizens

Why are voters being asked to overturn the new election law now in place? The new law requires residents of Maine to register at least two business days before election day. This time frame was put in place to eliminate voting by non-residents, as well as voters claiming more than one residence in Maine, by giving town and election officials sufficient time prior to election day to verify individual’s resident status.

As a resident of China, I would thank our select board for the work they have done and the sacrifice that it takes to serve. We elect the members and as with all boards, new members bring skill sets and views that are a healthy exchange adding to the quality of the board.
