Kidney disease: 1 in 7 adults may be affected, premature birth increases risk
According to data from 2017 analyzed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the number of Americans affected by chronic kidney disease is higher than previously estimated and affects 15% of the U.S. adult population. Data from a study released this May shows premature birth increases the risk for chronic kidney disease later in life.
