PITTSFIELD — The 40th Central Maine Egg Festival, Kiwanis Karnival and The Central Maine Everything that Flies Fly-In events are planned for Pittsfield this month.

The Egg Festival, set for July 17-21, will coincide with the Kiwanis Karnival, July 19-21, and the Everything that Flies Fly In will take place July 21.

The Egg Festival Pageant will be July 15. Other events include: street dance, Egglympics, sidewalk art, quiche and cheesecake contest, kiddie parade, the big parade, crafters’ tent, Young Eagles Flights, music, Karnival rides and games, Scholarship Pageant, Egg Scramble 5K Run/Walk, food, fireworks and more.

The frying pan that became part of the festival in 1973 will be there. The pan weighs more than 300 pounds and is 10 feet in diameter. The Historical Depot will be open and showcase the previous winners of the Largest Egg Contest which has not been held in the past few years for various reasons.
