Reading programs set for Pittsfield
PITTSFIELD — Registration is open for the Pittsfield Public Library’s 2012 Summer Reading Program “Dream Big-Read.” Reading logs and Sea Dogs tickets are available for participants. Children will have the opportunity to win prizes by reading each week.

Fresh Air Fund hosts needed for summer
NEW YORK — The Fresh Air Fund has provided free summer vacations to more than 1.7 million New York City children from low-income communities since 1877. Children are boys and girls, ages 6-18. Children on first-time visits are 6-12 years old and stay for one to two weeks. Children who are re-invited by host families can continue with the program through age 18.
Children’s Storytime begins June 28
NORRIDGEWOCK — The Norridgewock Library will host Children’s Storytime at 11 a.m. every Thursday at the library on Mercer Road. A parent or other responsible adult must be present.
Waterville’s class of 1972 to reunite
WATERVILLE — Waterville High School’s class of 1972 will celebrate its 40th class reunion from 1 p.m. to midnight Saturday, July 14, at Champions Fitness Club. Social hour will begin at 7 p.m. and DJ will provide entertainment at 8 p.m. Admission will cost $15 per person at door. Attendees are asked to bring an appetizer to share.
Arts and craft workshops in July
FARMINGTON — Everyone’s Resource Depot recently announced the schedule for its July Arts and Crafts workshops. These programs are open to children of all ages from 3 to 4 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays during July at the Education Center on the University of Maine at Farmington.
KVCAP to host parenting classes
A six-session video and discussion program, Active Parenting Now: Do you ever wonder if there is a better way to handle some of those daily parenting challenges?, is planned for Waterville, Augusta and Skowhegan. The program is for parents and care providers of children ages 5-12 to teach effective discipline techniques and encouragement skills. The fee for a three-week session is $25.
Exhibits on display at UMF through Friday
FARMINGTON — A portrait exhibit featuring the work of artist Robert Shetterly and photographer Ann Arbor will be on display through Friday at the University of Maine at Farmington’s Emery Community Arts Center.
Support groups to be offered in Skowhegan
SKOWHEGAN — Hospice Volunteers of Somerset County, Inc. will offer grief support groups beginning Thursday at the 41 Main St. office. There is no cost to attend and all meetings are confidential. Each group will meet for six to eight sessions.
