BELGRADE — With summer just around the corner, it is time to start planning family fun-filled days. Located on Great Pond, the Belgrade Community Center for All Seasons has many ways people can have fun, stay fit and appreciate the “beauty” of the lake.

For children, Camp Golden Pond and Camp Loon for Teens begins June 24. For children entering kindergarten through sixth grade, Camp Golden Pond offers participants swimming, playing games, doing crafts, and going on field trip. Older kids can join Camp Loon. This camp is designed to strengthen teamwork, conservation awareness and leadership skills. Camp Loon teens will be able to earn their First Aid/CPR certification, stay overnight and go on field trips.

Weekly activities for adults include a Ping Pong competition or relaxing with Yoga on Mondays; Tuesdays for Morning Paddle using the center’s canoes and kayaks; Tuesday evenings, the Zumba group gathers for a fast-paced workout; Adult Basketball on Wednesday and Sunday nights; and Thursday offers Water Aerobics in the morning, Bridge in the afternoon and Bollywood Dance in the evening.

Beginning the end of June, the center’s in-ground pool for Community Swim is offered from 3 to 5 p.m. weekdays, as well as swim lessons on Thursday afternoons. Also open to the public is the town beach and picnic area on Great Pond and a playground.

The center also hosts several community events throughout the summer. Events include a yard sale June 15, Ice Cream Social on July 4, Belgrade Fire & Rescue’s annual Beanhole Bean Supper on Aug. 3, several concerts to benefit local nonprofits, as well as other events in the works.

The Belgrade Center for All Seasons and North Belgrade Community Center are also “beautiful” facilities to rent for a next birthday or anniversary party, family reunion or business meeting.
