CHESTERVILLE — The Board of The Chesterville Center Union Meeting House, Inc. recently announced its receipt of a grant for $10,000 from the Davis Family Foundation, a private philanthropic fund based in Yarmouth.

The Chesterville Union Meeting House was built and opened in 1851, following the relocation of the town’s first meeting house from the center to the north end of town. Serving as a non-denominational place of worship for many decades, the building subsequently experienced cycles of use, deterioration, and refurbishment. It now is the only historic, non-residential structure remaining at the center of Chesterville.
