SAN DIEGO (AP) — The New England Patriots settled into their home away from home on Wednesday.

The Patriots practiced at the University of San Diego in preparation for Sunday night’s game against the Chargers.

After losing to the Green Bay Packers on Sunday, the Patriots flew to Southern California. The players were off the early part of the week but coach Bill Belichick said the time in San Diego is no vacation.

“The most important thing is to get ready for the Chargers,” Belichick said. “That is what it is really all about. We are here to work on the Chargers.”

The Patriots face a team that has won three straight. That includes Sunday’s comeback in Baltimore, when the Chargers scored 21 fourth-quarter points to win 34-33.

“I’m enjoying San Diego,” Patriots cornerback Darrelle Revis said. “But we still have to focus on the task at hand.”

The Patriots seek to avoid their first two-game losing streak of the season against a surging team with a hot quarterback in Philip Rivers.

“They have done a great job,” Belichick said. “They are well-coached and have a very good group of players besides Rivers, skill players and depth in backfield. It’s a tough team to defend and a good scheme and they do a great job of attacking a defense. We will have to do a great job coaching and playing because there is really no weaknesses in that offense.”

San Diego’s win in Baltimore illustrated its versatility as four receivers had at least 80 yards receiving for the first time in franchise history.

“It is a very challenging offense,” Revis said. “They have one of the best quarterbacks in the league and they have a lot of weapons. Our focus is just to prepare on what we need to do to stop this offense.”

The Chargers worked at their facility, about five miles away from the Patriots.

“It’s different, just the location and what we are used to,” Revis said. “I think the key is to focus on getting the job done while doing some things we don’t usually do. We still understand we have the same task: prepare and get to know San Diego and making sure we execute on Sunday and go out and get a win.”

Even if the environment is odd.

“It’s fun to kind of be back in a college setting, when we are with each other 24/7,” Revis said. “And I think it was good for us on a bonding level. This is a team that enjoys being around each other so we had a good time and now it is all focus and business.”
