Several central Maine Heritage Council Museums will offer historic delicacies and/or tours of old kitchens or cooking tools and methods when their different museums are open at the following times and locations:
• Monday, July 13, to Friday, July 17
10 a.m.-4 p.m.: Margaret Chase Smith Library, 56 Norridgewock Road, Skowhegan.
Come visit what Ladies Home Journal described in 1956 as a “kitchen for a Lady Senator” and leave with Margaret Chase Smith’s favorite blueberry muffin recipe; 474-7133; mcslibrary.org.
• Wednesday, July 14
6:30 p.m.: Oakland Area Historical Society, 25 Main St., Oakland.

• Saturday, July 18
10 a.m.-4:30 p.m.: The L.C.Bates Museum, campus of Good Will-Hinckley, U.S. Route 201, 14 Easler Road, Hinckley.
A popular cookie treat: Molasses cookies. During the first quarter of the 20th century, these cookies were a popular treat in children’s cottages of Good Will. Taste cookies and see kitchen equipment from the past; 238-4250; l[email protected].
10 a.m.-1 p.m.: Norridgewock Historical Society, 11 Mercer Road, Norridgewock.
Several historic treats will be available for sampling, and a spinning demonstration will be provided by Sallie Wilder and Julie Drever; 634-5032.
2-4 p.m.: Taconnett Falls Genealogy Library, 10 Lithgow St., Winslow.
Sweet treats from the past — Taconnett Falls Chapter of the Maine Genealogical Society will present sweets from their tradition family recipe collections. For a donation, a copy of the original recipe will be available; 453-9768.
