About The New England Music Camp and the Snow Pond Center for the Arts
The New England Music Camp (www.nemusicamp.com) is a nationally renowned arts education- focused summer camp in Maine’s Belgrade Lakes region. Founded in 1937 on Messalonskee Lake, also known as Snow Pond, it draws more than 350 aspiring instrumentalists, singers and composers between the ages of 11 and 18 from across the U.S. and around the globe.
Building on the core values of the camp, the Snow Pond Center for the Arts development initiative will significantly expand arts and education opportunities in Central Maine. The $14 million project includes the following phases: (1) improvements to the existing infrastructure; (2) construction of the year round education center, and (3) construction of the lobbies and concert hall. All phases include contributions to the scholarship fund, both the summer and year round programs. Of the $14 million goal, $2 million is allocated to endowment and scholarship funding.
