PORTLAND — The Maine Gay Men’s Chorus seeks additional tenor, baritone and bass singers for its upcoming Pride 2018 season, which will culminate in three June performances of the concert “Do You Hear the People Sing?” Songs of Love, Hope and Resistance.

The chorus also seeks dancers with some tap experience to participate in two production numbers for the concert.

Informal auditions for new singers will take place from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 31.

Rehearsals will be held from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Wednesdays beginning Feb. 7 at First Parish Unitarian Universalist Church in Portland. Dancers interested in participating should email newmgmc@gmail.com for further information, including a separate rehearsal schedule.

The upcoming concert “Do You Hear the People Sing?” Songs of Love, Hope and Resistance, taking place June 14-16 at the Portland Players Theater in South Portland, will feature different guest performances at each concert. The concert on Saturday, June 16, will include a joint performance with the New Hampshire Gay Men’s Chorus (Luc Andre Roberge, artistic director). The Maine and New Hampshire choruses will also perform together in Rochester, New Hampshire, at the Rochester Opera House on Sunday, May 20.
