A fire rescue effort that happened early this month in Georgia was getting national attention Monday with the posting of video showing a firefighter catching a child who was tossed to him by a parent climbing down a ladder.

The video was posted to social media Sunday by the firefighters’ union in DeKalb County, outside Atlanta, and made national news Monday.

WFAA-TV in Atlanta reported that firefighters saved multiple people from the fire at the Avondale Forest Apartments, and that fire Capt. Jackson said 12 people were injured, eight of them children.

CBS quoted Jackson as saying, “We were catching babies like a football … There were adults that were on the balcony that were dropping their babies right into our arms. We had a couple firefighters catching babies, so it was just really incredible.”
