I read the newspaper as I have since I moved to Maine back in 1995. Today it hit hard, as I am sure some of the stories have hit others as well.

The 10-year-old girl allegedly tortured by her parents.

The drug killings — those coming up to our state to kill for drugs.

Teenager who allegedly killed a woman in Bowdoinham. The teen who murdered his fellow students and personnel at his school.

The list goes on and on. Stricter gun control, teachers carrying guns. Yikes. Are you crazy? When the teachers start carrying guns, we may as well close down the schools.

I don’t have a solution, I don’t have any answers. I am just a 60-year-old gram from Palermo.

No, that isn’t entirely true. I am a strong woman that will defend the freedom we do have. I will defend and protect my family.

What is my contribution, you may ask? As a Spiritualist, I send light and love to the universe and all that are in it. I pray for all, especially those that have done me wrong. I believe in karma. What we send out will come back to us.

So send out the positive and wait for the return. And remember it is your intent that counts.
