ORONO — Blanca Millan and Anne Simon each scored 21 points, and Maine ended its women’s basketball regular season with an 82-53 win Saturday afternoon against New Hampshire.

Kelly Fogarty and Maeve Carroll each added 12 points for the Black Bears (15-2, 12-2 America East), who opened a 24-9 advantage after one quarter and stretched it to 48-21 at halftime.

Amanda Torres led UNH (5-14, 5-11) with 16 points.

Maine, the No. 1 seed in the America East tournament, is now idle until the conference semifinals on March 7.

(1) UCONN 83, XAVIER 32: Christyn Williams scored 22 points and the Huskies (18-1, 15-0 Big East) breezed past the Musketeers (4-7, 1-6) in Cincinnati.

(9) MARYLAND 94, MINNESOTA 62: Ashley Owusu scored 24 points and the Terrapins (16-2, 12-1 Big Ten) beat the Golden Gophers (7-11, 6-10) in College Park, Maryland.

(16) GONZAGA 69, SAN DIEGO 47: Jill Townsend scored 16 points to lead the Bulldogs (19-3, 14-1 West Coast Conference) past the Toreros (12-6, 9-4) in San Diego.

CREIGHTON 83, (19) DEPAUL 72: Emma Ronsiek scored 27 points, Temi Carda added 18 and eight assists and the Bluejays (7-8, 6-5 Big East) upset the Blue Demons (13-5, 10-3) in Chicago.

(19) WEST VIRGINIA 81, TCU 78: Esmery Martinez scored 21 points and grabbed 12 rebounds, and the Mountaineers (17-3, 11-3 Big 12) overcame a 38-point performance by Lauren Heard to defeat the visiting Horned Frogs (8-11, 3-11).

(24) NORTHWESTERN 67, WISCONSIN 54: Sydney Wood and Lindsey Pulliam scored 14 points as the Wildcats (12-5, 10-5 Big Ten) beat the Badgers (5-15, 2-15) in Evanston, Illinois.

(25) SAN DIEGO STATE 75, FRESNO STATE 57: Jordan Schakel scored 14 points on perfect shooting, with four 3-pointers, and the Aztecs (17-4, 11-3 Mountain West) defeated the Bulldogs (9-9, 7-9) in Fresno, California.

MEN’S BASKETBALL

(1) GONZAGA 106, SAN DIEGO 69: Drew Timme scored 17 of his 21 points in the first half, Jalen Suggs added 17 points and the Bulldogs (22-0, 13-0 West Coast) won their 49th straight homer game with a  romp over San Diego (3-8, 2-5).

(5) ILLINOIS 94, MINNESOTA 63: Ayo Dosunmu had 19 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists for his second triple-double of the season, Kofi Cockburn scored 22 points in 24 minutes, and the Illini (15-5, 12-3) cruised past the Golden Gophers (13-10, 6-10) in Minneapolis.

DUKE 66, (7) VIRGINIA 65: Freshman Jaemyn Brakefield scored the go-ahead basket on a reverse layup with 1:58 left and the Blue Devils (10-8, 8-6 Atlantic Coast) upset the Cavaliers (15-5, 11-3) in Durham, North Carolina.

(8) ALABAMA 82, VANDERBILT 78: Jaden Shackelford scored a season-high 27 points and the Crimson Tide (18-5, 13-1 SEC) rallied past the Commodores (6-12, 2-10) in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

(10) VILLANOVA 68, UCONN 60: Collin Gillespie scored 20 points and Jeremiah Robinson-Earl had 17 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Wildcats (14-3, 9-2 Big East) past the visiting Huskies (10-6, 7-6).

(13) WEST VIRGINIA 84, (12) TEXAS 82: The Mountaineers (15-6, 8-4 Big 12) erased a 19-point deficit in the second half, then withstood a flurry of last-second misses to hold off the Longhorns (13-6, 7-5) in Austin, Texas.

(23) KANSAS 67, (15) TEXAS TECH 61: Christian Braun hit a corner 3-pointer with 24 seconds left, David McCormack scored 17 points and the Jayhawks (17-7, 11-5 Big 12) defeated the Red Raiders (14-7, 6-6) in Lawrence, Kansas.

(16) FLORIDA STATE 79, PITTSBURGH 72: Raiquan Gray had 16 points and eight rebounds, and the Seminoles (13-3, 9-2 ACC) beat the Panthers (9-9, 5-8) in Pittsburgh.

KENTUCKY 70, (19) TENNESSEE 55: Isaiah Jackson scored 16 points and the Wildcats (8-13, 7-7 SEC) matched a season high with their third straight win, beating the Volunteers (15-6, 8-6) in Knoxville, Tennessee.

(20) MISSOURI 93, SOUTH CAROLINA 78: Dru Smith scored 17 and the Tigers (14-6, 7-6 SEC) snapped a three-game losing streak with a victory over the Gamecocks (5-11, 3-9) in Columbia, South Carolina.

MEN’S HOCKEY

BOSTON COLLEGE 3, MAINE 0: The Eagles (15-3-1) overcame 56 saves by Victor Ostman to complete a weekend sweep of the Black Bears (2-9-1) in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts.

Patrick Giles, Alex Newhook and Colby Ambrosio scored for Boston College.

WOMEN’S HOCKEY

UNE 1, SOUTHERN MAINE 0: Jessie Scott’s unassisted goal late in the second period gave the Nor’easters a season-opening win over the Huskies (1-1) at USM Ice Arena.

Julia Benjamin made 22 saves for the shutout. USM goalie Haley McKim stopped 27 shots.

MAINE 1, HOLY CROSS 1: Olivia King’s goal late in the first period for Maine (7-8-1) offset an earlier goal by Millie Sirum of Holy Cross (4-14-1) as the teams played to a tie in Worcester, Massachusetts.

Loryn Porter made 27 saves for Maine.
