AUGUSTA —Augusta police continue to investigate the circumstances of a crash that sent a Chelsea man to the hospital and closed Bangor Street for several hours.

Police responded shortly after 1 p.m. Tuesday to a report of a collision between a pickup and a motorcycle at Bangor and Murray streets. Police have identified the driver of the pickup as Cassandra Rich, 39, of Augusta, and the driver of the motorcycle as Brian Skehan, 37, of Chelsea.

Skehan was taken by Augusta Fire and Rescue to MaineGeneral Medical Center in Augusta for serious injuries. MaineGeneral confirmed Skehan was treated there and said Tuesday he is no longer a patient.

Rich said she was not injured in the crash according to police.

The crash has been reconstructed by the Maine State Police.
