A vaccine clinic is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Sunday, July 11, at the Mt. Vernon Community Center, 2 Main St.
The single-shot Johnson & Johnson and second Pfizer vaccines will be available; students who received the first shot of Pfizer at school but did not get the second shot can take advantage of this opportunity.
Incentives are being offered to get more people vaccinated: the first 10 people to sign up will receive a certificate for a free 10-inch one-topping pizza from Flying Pond Variety. Anyone who recruits two or more people, including themselves, will be eligible for cash prizes — $50 for the one who recruits the most people, and $25 for 2nd place.
Volunteer drivers will be available for those needing a ride to the clinic. Call 860-0677 for a ride.
Walk-ins are welcome, but registration is helpful. To register, contact Dan Onion at 293-2076 or 242-6224 or [email protected], or Tom Ward at 293-1016 or 617-412-8824 or [email protected].

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
