We have a chance this November to elect a great leader as the new mayor for Augusta: Mark O’Brien!
In our younger days Mark and I played men’s softball together for years (believe it or not, Mark had some wheels in those days). Mark and I also coached various youth teams in the leagues that played at the Capitol Area Recreation Association (CARA) Complex. More recently, Mark and I served together as board members of CARA. I got to observe his leadership skills as president of the board as he guided a diverse group of volunteers to work together towards common goals.
O’Brien has a passion for Augusta, a genuine commitment to the community where he was born, raised, and educated, and where he and his wife chose to raise their own family. He has devoted his professional and personal life to public service. I am fortunate to call Mark a friend and with our support we will be able to call him our next mayor of Augusta.
