To the lovely woman who lives in the big white house on Route 24 in Gardiner, right across from the dirt road that follows the river: Thank you so much for the kindness you showed all of us stranded in our cars on Jan. 5 when Route 24 was a sheet of ice and we sat waiting over an hour for the sand trucks to come.
In the freezing rain you came to each car and asked if anyone wanted a snack or some water. Thank you for your thoughtfulness especially in these trying times. I know you made our day.
