The insurrection of Jan. 6 was not a day America wants to remember but a day a true American citizen will never forget. On that day our nation’s Capitol was stormed by a group of corrupt, arrogant people who had been brainwashed by a person that could not accept defeat. He certainly made it known what a poor loser he was. I don’t know if he understands math, but I was taught numbers do not lie and the proof is in the pudding.
He created a Republican cult of followers that he mislead into believing the election was rigged.
I have to ask what did they accomplish? Well, they accomplished mass destruction inside and out of the Capitol. What did they gain? Well, they gained a chance to appear in court. What did they prove? They only proved and showed their pure ignorance. I can only hope they catch and convict everyone of violators and give them the maximum punishment they deserve.
Our past president stated he would make America great again! This certainly didn’t look all that great to me. He instigated and enticed this action and I can only trust and hope he is banned from ever holding another political public office again.
That day, Jan. 6, 2021, was a very sad, sad day that will go down in American history. That day was viewed by other countries and certainly gave American democracy a black eye. That was a day our past president used his powers that placed him above the law.
