As a lifelong Mainer and taxpayer, I do not want to be saddled with $13.5 billion in debt because Rep. Seth Berry holds a personal grudge against CMP. But he seems to be on a personal crusade to seize the state’s utilities, no matter how much it costs us in debt, and is trying to get a referendum on the ballot to do just that. This overt politicization of our electrical utilities is a risk to all Mainers.
Leaving our electricity up to the will of politicians is a risk absolutely too big to take. I urge all Mainers to reject this dangerous idea.
