FARMINGTON — Canna Cabana, which started out as a marijuana grow operation selling its product wholesale, opened a storefront in October 2021. It continues to expand.

The facility at 184 Farmington Falls Road which services medical patients is owned by Jess Boudreault and managed by DeAnna Church. Since opening it has expanded into edibles, papers, merchandise, swag and more. It is now adding a smoke shop with all the glass products that go with it.

“It will be one stop shopping for people who are looking for those products,” Boudreault said Tuesday, April 4. “We have 55-60 different [marijuana] strains that we grow, so we have a good variety of flower, have  good genetic base. Not all strains are on the shelf at one time.”

“[Canna Cabana] has come a long ways,” Church said. The in-house medical line now offers lollipops, s’mores, caramels, all sorts of things, she noted.

“Drinks are really popular,” Church said. “The biggest growing thing right now is our canna coolers, other than the flower itself. The six different varieties of drinks are quite popular. We sold them well over the winter, feel with summer coming they are going to do even better.”

The drinks have 100 mg THC [the active ingredient in marijuana] per bottle, Boudreault added.

Business at Canna Cabana is constant, there are at least three or four new patients daily, Church said. “People are happy to not have the stigma that [marijuana] had before.”

“We are just trying to provide quality medical marijuana at an affordable price,” Boudreault said.

Purchases of most products require a medical card and a valid state ID, Boudreault noted.

“We are pretty personal with our customers,” Church said. Patients will ask for advise on which products to use or will be asked what their needs are, she noted. “We have strains that are really popular, that people come looking for,” she added.

Clone season is approaching and just like last year, five or six different strains of plants under two feet will be available at Canna Cabana. No medical card is needed for those, so patients and the public may purchase them, Church noted.

The edible line is expanding very quickly, Boudreault said. “We are in at least 30 different stores in the state,” she added.

Canna Cabana has several programs that benefit customers. When $30 is spent, patients receive a $5 coupon on their receipt. Any customer who spends $30 or more can spin the wheel to receive a special offer. Patients also earn one point for every dollar spent. The points can be redeemed for various items or store credit.

“A lot of people really like those features,” Church said.

“We try to make it fun,” Boudreault added.

Canna Cabana will be hosting a 4/20 party on April 20 with a mega sale. At 4:20 p.m. there will be a huge raffle drawing for patients.

“It’s a marijuana holiday, an old handle that they used to use, now they have turned it into a day,” Church noted.

Canna Cabana is open 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday. For more information call 207-492-2210.

“We have come a long ways in this industry,” Church said.
