Lincoln County Historical Association seeks volunteer docents for this summer at its three sites: Pownalborough Court House in Dresden, 1811 Old Jail in Wiscasset, and Chapman Hall House in Damariscotta.

Each year from June 1 to Oct. 1 association volunteers act as docents (tour guides) or greeters. The time commitment is generally once or twice per month for four to six hours, depending on the site. Greeters take admission fees and meet with guests while a tour is in progress. Docent training and guidebooks are available, according to a news release from Shannon Gilmore with the association.

Those who have an interest in history and enjoy meeting new people can email Gilmore at lchamaine@gmail.com.
