Adrianna Smith scored 37 points, and Lala Woods broke a 63-63 tie with back-to-back 3-pointers in the final three minutes, lifting Maine to a 73-65 victory over UMass Lowell in an America East women’s basketball game Thursday night in Lowell, Massachusetts.
Woods, a freshman from West Virginia, scored 10 of her 17 points in the fourth quarter as the Black Bears (6-8, 1-0 America East) overcame a 53-49 deficit.
Asta Blauenfeldt added 13 points for Maine, which has won three in a row.
Maddie Rice led UMass Lowell (6-8, 0-1) with 20 points.
