Eels wouldn’t let go, even as they killed salmon
I remember fishing the outlet of Sheepscot Lake when I was young. Far down the outlet, near the hatchery, there were locations where you could see salmon resting in pools.

Manchester wise to expand pre-K education
Manchester voters made a wise choice to fund expanded pre-K education. Throughout my career, I have worked with a lot of kids and my experiences in law enforcement have taught me that high-quality early education is a smart investment in our children and communities.

I just read a letter from a woman who thanked the two people who came to her assistance when car horn would not stop honking. I realized I have not thanked the two men who came to my assistance recently.

KJ enjoyment lessened by lack of late sports, news
I received a letter the other day from MaineToday Media Inc. that said that, as a valued subscriber, I need to pay more, beginning July 1, toward the costs of creating, printing and delivering the newspaper that I receive, the Kennebec Journal.
