For the past few months, I’ve been receiving glitzy mail flyers and watching hundreds of ads on television telling me to vote no on the upcoming Question 3 on the November ballot. The flyer claims to paid for by Maine Energy Progress, whom I suspect of working on behalf of Central Maine Power and Versant Energy. Now all that advertising must cost those two corporations many millions of dollars.
I’m sure those two will never admit that, like most corporations, they only spend that kind of money to make more money. Which is just what they will do if we allow them to go on way over-charging for electricity.
So much money being spent on advertising to convince me how to vote tells me that CMP and Versant only have their financial interests in mind. All they have done with all that advertising money is convinced me to vote yes on the ballot and stopping this particular form of corporate greed to go on.
